The full transcript undercuts Hurās claims that Biden could not remember his sonās death and had āpoorā memory
The full transcript of President Joe Bidenās five-hour interview with special counsel Robert Hurās investigators āpaints a more nuanced portraitā of Bidenās memory than the special counselās report, according to The Washington Post, which noted that āBiden doesnāt come across as being as absent-minded as Hur has made him out to be.ā
The transcript ācould raise questions about Hurās depiction of the 81-year-old president as having āsignificant limitationsā on his memory,ā according to The Associated Press.
Hur in his report declined to charge Biden, arguing that it would be difficult to convince a jury to convict with a memory that the special counsel described as āfaultyā and āpoor,ā noting that Biden could not recall when his son Beau died or when he served as vice president.
But Biden said exactly when his son died in the interview.
Full transcript. The excerpt in question starts on page 82 of the first interview session.
I actually really recommend reading for a few pages. Obviously itās interesting to see the primary source and judge Hurās claim about Biden not remembering when his son died, or flip to some random page and read a little and make an evaluation of Bidenās mental fitness. But the little section that begins with talking about Beau dying was just really unexpected to me.

My favorite moment of the 2020 campaign was during the debate, Trump was mudslinging something or other about Hunter and Biden full on stopped, looked dead into the camera, and made it explicitly clear how much he cared for his son and would support him through his problems. It was a great thing to see.
Itās a tie with the time when Trump was trumpeting and Biden basically said āwhatever, manā and shut him down like a parent to a goofy child.
But I think Iām having trouble remembering the details, so 1) Iām out as prez and 2) anyone remind me?
Agreed. Itās all projection with these dimwits. They wish they were as sharp as Biden, but most of them were in cognitive decline before birth.
Heās had a lot of terrible things happen to him with regards to family, and he strikes me as someone whose tragedies stay close to his heart and remain fresh. Heās very human. Iām okay with him forgetting which year he lost Beau, because I sometimes get mixed up on the year I lost my mom (5 years ago) and I never remember the exact year my dad passed away (20+ years ago).
