who was the original left side about? Luc Besson? James Cameron?
Marvel I think
Harry this just keeps getting worse why are you exposing me to all this
wew lad
but you asked…
Lmao calling The Winter Soldier Surreal and Avant-Garde, there’s not even any people speaking backwards!
It’s pretty telling about the creator of that meme that they don’t know the word “noir”.
why are you posting such violence on my chapo chat TL, churl
posts like this should be treated with the same seriousness as anti-Bong Joon-ho shit
There was a young kid who wanted to make a Batman movie but didn’t have any money. Zach Snyder gave him a new camera and told him he could be a great director one day. That kid was Martin Scorsese.
i’d unironically take clerks over every scorsese
Nice, oopsy doodle.
I’d unironically watch a combined Clerks - Taxi driver movie.
Unironically Chasing Amy is one of my favorite movies. Probably one of Ben Affleck’s best performances. Despite some of the dated references and views on sexuality, it is a very good portrayal of bisexuality. It has a good lesson on how to deal with relationships with partners with different sexual experiences. I think people argue that the characters are “immature” but that’s precisely the point. If that sounds good to you, I’d recommend watching it.
I was there and I’m here to tell you kevin smith sucks
I’ve only heard of 1 of these, and watched 0 of them
what’s ur guys score
I’ve seen every one listed lol, except Casino I think
Casino is amazing. It’s a spiritual sequel to Goodfellas and for my money it’s not only better but probably my favorite Scorsesese movie. It’s long as hell and spans a couple decades, it’s similar to Goodfellas in a lot of ways but the scope is much broader and I think the characters are richer. I’m also someone who is quite aware and fond of his non mob movies, it’s weird stuff like Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, absolute classics are forgotten to be by him it seems. Anyway, watch Casino, it slaps really really hard.
Goodfellas is just Casino done tight. Both good.
They’re both fantastic, don’t get me wrong there. If someone preferred goodfellas I wouldn’t hold it against them and really they are two different movies with different goals at the end of the day. I like Casino more but I’ve rewarched Goodfellas more often.
Same here. Haha
I’ve yet to see the Irishman, but seen the rest. Ur making me feel like a nerd
Heard about all, watched 2.
Surprisingly I’ve never seen Chasing Amy, seen the rest.
Haven’t seen The Irishman yet.
Missed out Cape Fear, Age Of Innocence, Kundun, Gangs Of New York, Bringing out the Dead, Hugo and Wolf of Wall Street amongst others to make the argument.
Also Kevin Smith used a crane shot that spent about thirty seconds travelling up a blank brick wall in Mallrats. I like Kevin and his films are often fun watches but even he would not entertain this post as a serious proposition.
he would not entertain this post as a serious proposition.
Maybe because it’s a joke post.
Indeed.
It seems like a fair comparison to be. They both made five movies and are equally talented.
We need to fit Uwe Boll in here somewhere.
Finally some KINO
кино
That Postal movie is quite something. He also has a series of 3 movies or so called Rampage or something that seems suspiciously like him airing out his desire to be a mass shooter dressed with the thinnest veneer of social commentary
I’ve not watched it. Life is too short to watch movies that are unlikely to be good when there’s so much stuff I’d probably like waiting to be seen.
I would say Postal is one of those rare very strange movies you should watch. It’s not “good” but it is funny to marvel at for the stupid spectacle of it
OK, if it’s that strange I shall put it in my maybe pile.
Bad movies are just as good as good movies. At least if you’re into the film making process and the decisions being made during production etc. Seeing something done wrong is at least informative as to why something being done right is right
Yeah, it can be.
I read the synopsis for Rampage expecting a goofy movie about people turning into Kaiju and smashing up a city and all I got was an adaptation of the video game Hatred.
Yeah it’s uhhh
It’s just not fun and really depressing to watch. It has none of his low budget charm and crude humor. It’s just a guy in a small town putting on some plate mail and gunning down random people he sees in town. Vast majority of them don’t deserve it. We’re given no reason to be sympathetic to him, he has no discernible cause or message until like the 2nd or 3rd movie where his ideology is just eco-fascism and population control. Funnily enough, Rampage is like the only well-reviewed film by Uwe Boll from western critics. Says a lot I think.
You saw Kundun?
I did not but I know it wasn’t a mob movie.
the best bait has a grain of truth in it
this must not be the best bait then
I think I’ve only seen Dogma.
Dogma balls
Gottem
neither of these clowns have anything on my boy Joe Dante
The most correct answer.
This one’s too easy, there’s a clear winner here. Harder question is
who’s the better filmmaker: Brian Levant, who made the 1994 Flintstones movie and Snow Dogs AND Beethoven, or Jean-Luc Godard?
I like that part in Beethoven where the dog bites the guy in the nuts. Gonna have to give it to Beethoven
killers of the flower moon was very very good and very very sad
clerks rules

Why watch After Hours or Silence or Temptation of Christ or Age of Innocence or King of Comedy or Bring Out the Dead or Cape Fear when you could watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYITxGniww4?
