DS9 wrap party, April '99.
Other available shots:
The Molly O’Brien actress (Hana hatae) didn’t really do other childhood acting, but she showed up in an episode of kitchen nightmares in 2010. I believe it was the one where Gordon was astounded that a Japanese restaurant was offering “sushi pizza”
The black and white makes those photos look even more timeless.
Also, René and Majel, ow my heart.
This one is probably my favorite of the bunch because it’s so polar opposite to the characters they play.
Odo’s the goofy one, Worf is genuinely smiling, and Lwaxana is the subdued one.
This silly guy?
This is disturbing, exciting, amazing, wonderful, confusing and absolutely unbelievable … that big beautiful, flowing 1970s hair!
Rene Auberjonois, as Kimball, in Wonder Woman TV Series in 1979!
Nice detective work on the clip, constable.
I’ve skimmed over the bios of most of the actors from DS9 as I’ve watched the series but I never really went to go looking for actual footage. I just find it amazing to watch Auberjonois as a young action star with Charles Bronson hair and a cheesy brown suit.
May I also interest you in a later-life Auberjonois cameo from the TV show Frazier?

Lots of movies/posters/images of him in other roles here:

I’ve read a bit about the bios of the actors from DS9 … I enjoy doing that with just about every show or movie I watch. I usually have a laptop and either do a quick search during a quiet moment in the show or pause the program because I get so fascinated by what I’m reading about the actor. But other than those times, I never really take a lot of time to search for photos, images, or even video clips of what they did in the past … it’s amazing to see them as younger actors doing amazing work.
As for Janeway, i loved finding Mrs. Columbo and I really tried watching it, but i gave up after a few episodes …
First episode of Mrs Colombo was in 1979. While they were doing her show, Auberjonois in his wonderful hair was jumping around buildings and running away from Wonder Woman!
I do the same, but also with reading the IMDb trivia and goofs
IMDb trivia and goofs
That’s bookmarked every time I start a search on what I’m watching … I usually just open up a dozen pages between IMDB and Wikipedia … and if there are lot of classic old vehicles then IMCDB.org and often a Google map to just show where everything is taking place.
And, from time to time, imfdb.org if there are slick looking guns I don’t recognize
Out the wazoo.
Hawk was the pinnacle of style, 100% thanks to Brooks.
As soon as he “hawked up” on DS9, i knew shit was about to hit the fan.
That coat does not surprise me at all. From what I was able to gather from the What We Leave Behind DS9 documentary, he’s quite the odd duck.
He also shows that in The Captains too
That… and 90’s fashion had an odd flair in general.
Siddig is really friendly with the ladies
Have you seen what he looks like??? No shit.
Nana was his wife at the time. But yeah, lots of Bashir seems to have been drawn from personal experience.
Ah, that explains at least half of it
Also, do you think that every time someone sees Avery Brooks and gets excited and days, “IT’S HAWK!!” he said, “thank you” and is grateful someone brought up another role he played?
I was always fond of him as the principal in American History X.
He seemed genuinely bashful when I brought up that he played coolest character to ever appear on television.
He just felt you should have been nicer about Spencer.
Good lord, Nana’s hair is worse IRL than it was in the show.
You mean that’s not Cheri Oteri?
“GLIDE.”
