Just a general thread about running. How’s your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc.

I have a Garmin ForeRunner 165 on order, set to arrive in early January. I’m looking forward to its arrival.

Thanks to some tips from last week, I finally figured out how to connect my Polaris chest strap to my fruit phone. As expected, it was a user error.

I did have one thing I wanted to query the hive mind about. For scheduling & heat management reasons, my outdoor runs will be starting at around 630am local time. In January this means 40-45 minutes before sunrise. What would you recommend for lights or reflectivity in the hour or so before sunrise?

I’ve been using a Polar H9 on my fruity phone for over a year now and never had any major issues other than it not auto connecting anymore if I didn’t use it for like 5 days or more.

Never really liked watches so never considered it, I get all my stuff fine on the phone.

99% humidity here. Heading to my parkrun. Going to be a sweaty one.

    Edit - so much sweat

Ran in the coldest weather of the season this Thursday. It was about 19°f when I left. I didn’t look at what it was when I got back.

This is also the season of running in the dark during the week 😩. Still rocking a Black Diamond headlamp from 2015… No idea how it’s still going

Also missed my Tuesday run because life got in the way and didn’t get home until I just didn’t feel like going.

I plan to run 10k tomorrow morning, which will give me a bit over 11 miles for the week.

I complain when it’s hot and when it’s cold :). The difference is, in the heat it’s easy to leave the house, but the run sucks. I. In the the cold, it’s hard to leave the house, but the run is good :)

Yeah post pic is so inaccurate its not funny. Needs to be 100% drenched in sweat like they just took a sweat shower and splashed some extra sweat on for effect.

It rained during parkrun and somehow it got even hotter.

At mine apparently I was the only one who sweats. Others had a little sweat going on, I was saturated.
