There are quite a few around my area. They are beyond ridiculous and stupid looking. I cringe every time I see one because I am sure that the guy driving feels so cool when in fact it is just embarrassing.

Ok that’s fair. It’s a shame they don’t make the 90’s s10s and rangers any more, but I think it was a safety thing.

It’s mostly poorly written legislation and Americans wanting bigger and bigger cars. CAFE, or corporate average fuel efficiency, is the main culprit. It’s in dire need of an overhaul. I’m hoping we’ll get a small electric pickup someday.

As for safety you might be thinking of kei trucks which are gaining popularity in the US, but aren’t registerable in most states due to safety regulations.

I miss those little Datsun pickups. About the size of an S10 and you could beat the absolute hell out of them and they’d still run.

Same with the 70s Ford Courrier. My buddy had one that I know for a fact he rolled. Cracked the door so you had to slam it to get it closed. Sumbitch kept running.

Ford Maverick, almost the same size as the old school rangers and S10s

I think the only thing it’s missing out on is box length and ride height? I’m not sure why they didn’t reuse the Ranger model name and gave the new ranger a different name.

I would rather drive around in the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile. They look better. But honestly, just make a normal stupid ev truck.

Yeah I’m looking for something like the Changan E07 just without the power bits. That type of design seems like the perfect solution to me. Nice aerodynamics for efficiency, then truck functionality when it is actually needed

Finally not having a backlog and finally letting people buy them without a waitlist, like a normal car, seems like a good thing for them?

It’s a bad car that no one should buy, but I’m not sure how the title is trying make it seem like a store’s shelves finally not being empty is a bad thing.

I agree, but this article doesn’t state that nobody is buying them. It states they have enough for the demand.

You are right, I worded it wrong. What I mean is that the opinion of the author doesn’t seem based on any facts reported. The only facts shown is that the company is no longer behind with production.

It could be that they are now producing more than there is demand for, but the article doesn’t show anything indicating that.

If the dual motor isn’t selling well that doesn’t bode well.

Of all the reveal specs, it was actually the closest to the advertised specs and price after inflation.

With inflation after the delay it’d be about 61k. Sells for 80k. The final vehicle has more range though, offsetting the 19k gap a bit.

The RWD and Tri were much further off.
