      The only way people who support Trump can rationalize this is if it would not destroy their image of him. Climate change being real would mean their hero is a liar. Same goes for any other explanation. That’s why they come up with the only explanations that could in theory be true but do not prove the guy is a liar.

      It’s cognitive dissonance.

      Understand, mainly they are not saying what they believe, they are saying what would need to be true to justify what they are planning.

      If there is reality that points at corporations being bad, people they care about being bad, or climate change the radical right will create a set of lies to hide the truth, so yes, except for things that aren’t politically controversial
