This toxic waste dump in Victoria contained everything from PFAS to asbestos — and even cash and a dog wrapped in a mattress — buried in 32 locations, some the size of AFL fields. Now $40 million later, the clean-up is almost complete.

It was absolutely horrific what was happening in this place. It is good to see that it is being cleaned up and some improved procedures put in place for recycling.

Hopefully we continue to invest more into recycling as a community, there are far too many waste stockpiles hidden in warehouses and sites like this. We need to invest in local industries to manage the waste we are producing (as well as reducing how much there is) and not just assume we can dump it all overseas.
