I dont even remember the last time I went to Toombul. Prior to it getting shuttered that is.
Was it actually a bustling little centre before it got wet, or was it already on the way out?
It spent a long time circling the drain, but then they spent money on it. The cinema re-opened, and they built a whole new open air dining and bar precinct on the upper level near the cinema. That got it bustling again, and it felt alive for the first time in a long time.
And then the covid lockdowns happened. And then the flood.
And that was the end of that…
