53 is young. She noticed around 45.

Please, after 30… Every few years, Get yourself checked out and be really really demanding about it. The worse case scenario is this.

The actor had been first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent a mastectomy. In 2020, she said that her diagnosis was then terminal, calling it “a bitter pill to swallow” in a Good Morning America interview.

Very true. I’ve noticed what I call The Reckoning every 25 years.

When we all hit our mid-20s, quite a few if my friends died for avoidable reasons.

When the remainder of us hit 50, one friend died and two other friends were going through cancer treatment at the time of her funeral. A number of other friends have since had cancer. The cancers were either of oesophagus or bowel.

I spoke to my cousin about it, who is older than me by quite margin and she had noticed a lot of friends dying around 50. Luckily, cancer treatments have moved on so the survival rate is better.

We’ll have to see what 75 brings. I don’t think it’ll be pretty.

And the reason? We partied in out 20s like we didn’t want to make it to 30. A number didn’t and some of us still around today are paying the price for that now.

So get thoroughly checked out, don’t ignore symptoms and treat your body a bit better when your young, it will pay off down the line.

Also, if you are under 45, get the HPV vax. It prevents a few kinds of cancer, and maybe more (there is a question about some skin cancer).
