They’ve been shielded from even critical support of China and other AES for so long they literally, not figuratively, literally cannot process that people exist that have beliefs that aren’t Reddit Approved. They immediately assume it’s bots or wumao. Human beings can’t possibly hold these beliefs, so they must be Oriental hordes or actual robots.

Legit question: having never been to China, or seeing anything regarding the news about China for yourself in any capacity whatsoever, do you ever stop to consider even for a moment that maybe you’ve been misled by those with all the power and incentive in the world to mislead you? Or do you just take it on good faith that opposing forces to those with power over you are somehow always totally ungood double-bad?
Follow up question: assuming you’re aware as most of the public is that all the means of justification for invading Iraq + Afghanistan were entirely manufactured, do you ever question what else might be made up by the same entities?
China is in the news all the time, last time I checked they were dealing with floods.
