    That’s it though. They’re professionals they can stop a heavy truck in under a metre as opposed to casual drivers who need hundreds of metres. At least they think they can

      Yet when the inevitably run up the back end of someone, they always claim “omg don’t you know how long it takes for a truck to stop??” as if somehow the vehicle in front of them is responsible for… them following too close?

      I see truck drivers manoeuvring in tiny spaces with a heap of skill and it’s something I can’t do, but I also see truck drivers tailgating hatchbacks on the highway at 110kph (and throwing up justifications like “If I dont follow close someone else will just pull in” which is stupid for car drivers but doubly so for heavy vehicles). On balance I cant wait for self-driving everything.

        I’ve been in one of those hatchbacks being tailgated by a truck. I was doing the speed limit but they had the nerve to flash their lights at me. Slowed down for a little before changing lanes
