I have been running a Rinnai gas heater in the main living area for nearly 20 years and it is great in winter. I find the heat from the ducted system feels somehow suffocating but the heat from the gas heater is great and covers a massive area. Most come with timers etc so very convenient.

      I swear I don’t work for Rinnai :)

You should really stop using it, particularly if you have a ducted aircon system as well. Unless it’s vented they’re quite bad for you. They banned them in schools about 15 years ago now because of it. Here’s a page from nsw health: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/factsheets/Pages/unflued-gas-heaters.aspx

        And from Victoria health https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/gas-heating-health-and-safety-issues

They’re just not worth the risk, particularly because reverse cycle aircon is cheaper to run.

Lol I always hear a “tick” sound around the gas outlet. Is it normal?

Next to the gas outlet, theres a switch board, at first I thought its coming from the switch board but I dont think so. I still couldn’t figure out where the sound coming from but I am sure its around that area.

I have two gas outlets inside the house and I have never heard any sounds coming from either. At least from my experience that does not sound normal.

              Heres a couple thoughts,

              1. Double check you don’t have some gas bottles left on the outside of the house. They might still be connected, and i don’t know the pressure in the pipe could be causing some ‘ticking’.

              2. Its Derren the Dog, tapping out a morse code SOS along the copper piping hoping someone at the outlet will hear. He’s been kidnapped by Rattus again, and he’s locked under the house.
