Australians have resoundingly rejected a proposal to recognise Aboriginal people in its constitution and establish a body to advise parliament on Indigenous issues.

Saturday’s voice to parliament referendum failed, with the defeat clear shortly after polls closed.

The extremists like yourself didn’t help, what with aggressively calling everyone that even dared to suggest they might vote no a racist and/or a nazi.

No won because it was a bad idea, not because of lies, fear, or misinformation.

Did I call anyone a racist or a nazi?

I just think there was a widespread campaign of misleading bad faith arguments on the no side that worked with the algorithms that feed the minds of the average to sway the vote.

I think it was imperfect, sure, but it would have forced future governments to do something rather than nothing to push the next 100 years in the right direction. we have failed over the last 200 years, now we will continue.

You might not have, but many people in this very topic are throwing around the word racist like there’s no tomorrow.

I disagree. I think it would have empowered all the virtue signallers to sit on their hands smugly for the next hundred years and go “but we gave you a voice already, what more do you want!?”
