I’ve linked to the article in todays AFR but its paywalled. A few things struck me,

  • the authors seeming incredulity that the only federal politcans who seem at all concrerned are The Greens.

  • The second was a comment by one of the scientists that whike there are many 10s of thoisands of dead individual animals, many 100s of species will go extinct from this and this is directly related to climate chanhe

  • The third, he points to the irony of the Australian Governments attempt to lobby to host the climate change COP in Adelaide, flying something like 20,000 delegates to the gab fest its becone at the bottom of the world and the enormous emissions from doing so.

I have bpc-clone installed on Firefox (I trust the link). Here’s the extension for Chrome users. I pin the extension icon to the browser toolbar near where the Firefox extensions icon is (along with a few others like ublock origin). When I hit a site with a paywall the extension icon displays a red badge to indicate it’s active. If I click the extension icon I see a couple of options to open the link in new tab using achive.today or clearthis.page. There is no option for archive.org as far as I know. I’m not sure why, I haven’t gone digging in to it. I mention it because if I’m not feeling lazy I’ll check archive.org for an archived copy or create one to share as I’m not sure how long those other services will be around for. Having done a bit of internet archiving before I’m trying my best not to contribute to the graveyard of dead links.

I have the same BPC clone on both my Linux Mint desktop FF and my android phone FF. This article was posted via the Lemmy Booost App from my phone

My workflow differs to yours a little from here, I just copy the url and paste it into the archive.md sites prompt on my phone. Over the last little while, I’ve been getting corrupted page versions from archive and to be honest, as the archive sites fallen over so often with corrupt pages, i didn’t bother trying this time.
