It’s also about easy navigation though Say one does pop up, I don’t really wanna remember the fediverse’s name if /c/technology, /c/worldnews, /c/news are all on different instances. I just wanna /c/technology and see things there.
That’s the whole point of the fediverse. I can stay here and see all the other ones, well I should be able to do it easily instead of remembering all the instances
It’s good, but it really needs combining of same name communities across the fediverse to prevent fragmentation.
I want to see all the technology instances if I go to /c/technology on whichever instance I"m on. It’s hard enough remembering all the other fediverse names and which instances they have.
I mean, it’s kinda already doing that on the front page, i.e. grabbing all the other fediverse posts.
In that case, this is one wild coincidence. Because the same time Reddit goes down, HN goes down, Kbin goes down and so does Cloudflare?
That’s amazing. I think you might be right, some HN folk are adamant that HN also doesn’t use cloudflare.
You’d be right. https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/
Good to know. Best thing about this Fediverse thing is we can browse the rest of it too. Not sure how that impacts posts from here though.
https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/
I posted somewhere that it’s taken down Kbin and Hacker News too.
It’s cloudflare. https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/
It’s taken down Reddit and also Kbin and Hacker News. Good for Kbin, gives them time to up their resources that isn’t their fault.
Kinda a hilarious timing really.
I think we’d rather not see this shut down though if we’re seeing this as an actual alternative.
There needs to be a site or Lemmy itself needs to change so that it automatically supports “multi communities”. Like If i go to /s/Australia it should get /s/Australia from perthchat, lemmy.ml and all the other ones.
They already do support this but it’s only the “front page” which is nice I can see beehaw stuff.
Lowest is 9C you’re right, would it be crazy for you to hear that inside is also 9C and potentially lower in some places?
