To me, the most unrealistic part of that ad is not the edge to edge displays, or the holograms emanating from them, or the overall inefficiency of it all, but rather just that you could never have a place that full of screens without ads being everywhere.

I remember first watching that video on my first smartphone and thinking “When will they ever make a phone without bezels?” And now they pretty much have, but my experience was not some artistic interface full of aesthetically pleasing data and art. It was a YouTube video completely surrounded by ad content.

Personally, I think whoever made this image has gives too much credit to Shinto and Taoism.

You wouldn’t believe how much more Americans already pay for healthcare than other countries and then having to pay insurance on top of that.

Insurance has allowed the healthcare industry to balloon costs beyond any reasonable limit. Allowing the government to dictate prices instead can only help drive cost of medical care down and make the situation much more affordable for all, even factoring in what we pay now in both taxes and insurance.

I may be biased (being Chinese) but I feel like the sauce packets are completely unnecessary these days. Maybe 30-40 years ago when takeout Chinese food was still something of a novelty for Americans, but I would think most American households have soy sauce, Sriracha, and mustard (well, maybe not spicy) these days.

But I think, in the interest of reducing waste, we should expect people to pick up their own sauces to use rather than pre-supplying all of them under the expectation that they only might be used. Like, imagine if pizza places threw in 10 packets of ranch dressing with every box of pizza you ordered because some people like eating pizza with ranch.

I don’t mind questions being somewhat focused or topical. But the ones I don’t like are “Here is my long-winded opinion on x, what do you think?” or “Here’s a random article or other thing I found on the internet, thoughts?”

If it’s a post asking opinions on a recent event, that’s one thing. But I think the soapboxing should be limited. There’s more that a post should need to actually qualify as a discussion-fueling question than just the fact they ended a sentence with a question mark somewhere in their post.

I haven’t played it yet myself, but based on the pre-release info I’ve read, I am assuming it’s the separate progression system the DLC uses.

The normal strength of weapons in the rest of the game doesn’t matter as much, there’s a different way of powering up exclusive to the DLC content. So anyone who was buffed up like a god before the DLC is not that far ahead of someone jumping in early during their first playthrough.

Some nicknames do a consonant shift for the first letter, like William > Will > Willy > Billy

Margaret > Meg > Meggy > Peggy

I don’t know, why do Japanese schools have culture festivals? Is it not enough to say that some countries have different cultural norms and traditions?

They can change their logo to whatever they want but actually calling it “MTN DEW” abbreviated and in all caps like that just seems cringy. It’s trying way too hard to be a “BRAND”, as if just spelling the word “Mountain” and using fewer capitalizations will plummet the stock prices.

You’ve basically touched on one of the core logical issues at play in Abrahamic religions (and others). God is omnipotent and omniscient, or people have free will. It can’t be both.
