I know they’re annoying as hell at times, but I love our birds.

I was walking back from the shops the other day and a magpie was giving such a great sing song I wanted to join in. (I actually used to try and do some bird calls a while back, but got worried I was either messing with some bird’s territory, or was their unseen and never attainable love).

And we’ve had some kookas hanging around. They’re been really well behaved, and don’t rarely get into a full blown contest, but they give a little trill, or a chuckle and it gives you that feeling of expectation! Will it bust out into a full laugh this time?

And, then a cocky takes a bombing run about a foot over your head, screeches and scares the shit out of you ☹️

      Almost forgot:

My favourite fact is that the lovely sound of bellbirds is actually them saying “Fuck you! Mine! Fuck off!”

Bell miner is worth a read. They are territorial and farm 😃

I love them. I went out of my way to find the last one to visit. I think it had managed to trick a crested pigeon or spotted dove into being it’s guardian.
