When we went to the shelter to get our cat we were informed she liked boxes very much, and indeed, she had a box in her kennel and was proudly sitting in it. They packed her and her box into a carryout box for us.
We now have random boxes across the house for cat sitting purposes.
In truth, I only order things from Amazon because we need to keep providing new and interesting boxes to the kitties.
