    I am happy that this is going ahead. I am also happy that I moved away from the area before they started. 12months riding replacement buses to Sydenham would kill me.

    Talk about a job stretching out and out and out.

    I found an article from 2017 that the line was meant to operational by mid 2020. Now they are saying October 2025? The bit that’s taking the longest is the bit where they are using the existing track that isn’t getting replaced? The bit where they are just retrofitting existing stations. Is there something I’m missing here?

    Another article from metro themselves in 2018 says that the line will need 3 to 6 months of closures to get the work done. Instead of closing it in one period it will done in a program of shorter closures. And the line is to be operating by 2024.

    Now on top of all the closures that have been done to accomodate the 3 to 6 months they said before, they need an entire 12 months extra?
