Joe Biden has spent the last several months laying out the reasons why it would be a terrible idea to give Donald Trump a second term in officeāreasons that include everything from Trumpās assault on reproductive rights to his pledge to be a dictator only āon day one.ā And on Wednesday, the president added another entry to the list: the fact that his opponent appears to have completely lost touch with reality.
Speaking to supporters at a fundraiser in San Francisco, Biden reportedly referred to Trumpās claim that he and Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalnyāwho recently died in an Arctic penal colonyāhad suffered similar treatment, with the president remarking, āSome of the things that this fellowās been saying, like heās comparing himself to Navalny and saying thatābecause our countryās become a communist country, he was persecuted, just like Navalny was persecuted. I donāt know where the hell this comes from.ā Biden added: āI mean, if I stood here 10, 15 years ago and said any of this, youād all think I should be committed. It astounds me.ā
Would be interesting if the rest of the campaigns took place in the same senior care facility.
Just shuffle all of the āleadershipā off, scuffling amongst themselves. Include McConnell, honestly probably Pelosi, Grassley. Eventually theyāll get distracted by board games or whatever and we can figure out next steps.
Iāve said before that their debates will be reminiscent of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, not because of the high oratory, but because they both think they remember them.
