Weird day…the overcast weather is making me want to stay inside and be lazy, even though I know I should get out and about and do something.

We took some puppies to the Sunshine Coast for a walk at Currimundi dog beach… Beautiful day, and that little freshwater creek thing that runs to the ocean is so great to do a some paddling around in.

You know what’s not great though? The fucking Bruce Highway.

We went through EIGHT speed detection devices between Logan and Currimundi. That was mostly motorway driving - Logan Extension, Gateway, Bruce, whatever the one is at the other end, and back.

I’m on cruise control so I don’t give two shits about getting busted for speeding, but jesus it makes for a frustrating drive where everyone is so worried about getting a fine in the mail that they sit on 95kph. Overtaking someone who’s doing 94kph. And being tailgated by someone who wants to do 96kph.

Nose to tail tailgating from Caboolture and back. Literally less safe than just letting people do 120kph if they want, as long as they leave a following gap.

One thing I miss from the US is being left the fuck alone when you drive. 5000km of driving through a dozen state borders and saw a grand total of two cops with radars, and neither of them were using them at the time. Get back here and I see that many between the airport and the motorway.
