Vice President Kamala Harris said she’s “scared as heck” that Donald Trump could win another term as president as she pledged an aggressive campaign to make sure that doesn’t happen.

She made the comments Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” in response to a question from Joy Behar, one of the show’s hosts. Behar cited reports that other top Democrats — including former President Barack Obama and Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina — are concerned about President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.

Asked if she was scared about the potential of another Trump presidency, Harris said: “I am scared as heck! Which is why I’m traveling our country. You know, there’s an old saying that there’s only two ways to run for office — either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared.”

Harris said the fear should serve as motivation for the campaign ahead.

The rest of the world is both scared and resentful that we have to give a fuck about American politics.

I say that respectfully of our American brothers and sisters who are no doubt anxious as well.

Tangentially related question: What is this American aversion to using the word “hell”?

Don’t worry, I’m also scared and resentful that our internal bullshit affects the entirety of the world.

Evangelicals and Mormons are important voting blocs.

The aversion is rooted in our prudish origins.

That said, and I mean this with all sincerity, maybe the rest of the world could step up to provide a reliable and concrete foundation for the rest of the world so the world doesn’t need to watch our elections with such anxiety.

It would make me, as a US citizen, feel a lot better knowing y’all actually have the ability to stand up to the USA and make us accountable.

Sure thing, as soon as the US military and spy agencies stop defending the US hegemony extremely aggressively.

Fuck sake Harris, why make fear your message? Republicans and supporters love that. Why give them what they want?

Voters need to hear about resolve. Strength through sanity. Looking past MAGA rather than making it the focus.

Why doesn’t she step out then and let a better VP candidate come along? She’s dead weight dragging the rest of the administration down, she should step aside for the good of the country.

Problem is, there’s always the group that says their votes don’t matter, don’t vote on voting dat, then blame ‘the boomers’ for the sad state of the country.

Hot take - your vote does matter…until it doesn’t. You can win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote and the latter is the one that matters. Your vote only matters in your state.

If only you could speak to that guy you work with, and maybe the working class could benefit from some new policy.
