A lot is happening today with the community migration today, so I will keep this brief:
I beat Tchia. It’s wonderful, but has it’s flaws, mainly combat. I think it deserved the scores it received, and I can’t say enough how much I loved it. If you even remotely are drawn to it, I would highly recommend giving it a play through.
I am about halfway through Uncharted: Lost Legacy and it is really bringing back those Uncharted 4 vibes I wanted it to. Really loving the relationship between Chloe and Nadine and I also find myself marveling at the graphical details.
What are you playing? Let us know below!
Just downloaded Dysmantle, as I heard good things about it, looking forward to trying it out over the weekend.
Make a post and let us know how to goes!
Been playing this as well. Not the most impressive looking game but very fun and a big time sink with its core mechanics
It looks fun. I remember liking the trailer when it was announced.

I just started playing Fallen Order because it was free with PS Plus but rage-deleted the game because I couldn’t find my way back to the Mantis on the second planet after multiple hours of searching. Is it worth it to stick through despite the level design?

How did you like survivor?

That’s great! I can’t wait to play it. How was your performance?

I think digital foundry said that overall performance was roughly comparable across consoles. Maybe I just have to get used to 30fps. I really would like an option added to remove RT so I can get somewhat stable 60fps

Beat Saber. It’s a fun workout. Trying to play almost every track I have, both base and DLC.
That’s a lot of songs! You’ll have to play a Jedi game next I bet
I actually do have Fallen Order, still gotta complete that. My gaming sessions come in waves lol. I recently finished the main story of Watch Dogs Legion on PC so I should go and complete Fallen Order’s.
I’m about 15 hours into octopath traveler 2. its been a long time since i’ve played a JRPG like this one. the story and design are great so far. Getting a little bored with the grindiness of dungeons but that’s the nature of things in this type of game. The amount of choices you can make as any character with their battles at any time is mind boggling, which makes boss fights really strategic but a regular fight against grunts can be tedious.
I started playing Alan Wake and so far it’s interesting and it looks pretty good. I’ve had my eye on Exoprimal. Might wait for a sale tho $60 seems a little steep for a multiplayer.
Also playing Alan Wake! Better than I remember
Just got a console thru a nice sale recently!! I’m new to PS gaming (haven’t played much gen games too aside from the occasional PC ports), so have been checking out PS Plus games.
I’m playing FF7R remake these days, and while I really enjoyed the original, this one I have mixed feelings for. It’s got nice elements here and there, but the amount of filler is really getting to me. Plus all the times you have to walk slower.
Still, I am enjoying myself, just feels less satisfying knowing how the original went. Curious to see how Intergrade will play (might skip if it’s more of the same).
Well, not all games are meant for everyone, if you don’t like it that’s fine, there’s a lot more to play.
If you want some recommendation, you can ask here, just share what you have played and what kind of games you are looking for, I am sure the community will be glad to help.
Making my way through FF16. According to the PS5 dashboard completion percentage I’m at about 70% complete right now. So I might be able to finish over the weekend, but having a six-year-old at home might make that harder to accomplish.
Either way, I’m really enjoying it despite it being absolutely archaic in terms of its actual game design. It’s really carried by its presentation, soundtrack, and decent story. They’ve arguably stripped away too much of what typically defines a Final Fantasy game here, but I’m still having a great time by just choosing to appreciate what it does do well.
That’s great! Glad you’re having a good time.
The dashboard says I’m at about 55% and I don’t believe it haha. Feel like I’ve barely got into it!
So I have Diablo 4 and FFXVI with about 20 hours each…
And here I am playing the FFX/X-2 remaster for the nostalgia. I’m probably gonna return to FFXVI sooner but man the mid-game death of my favorite character made me take a pause.
Diablo 4. Been a while since I’ve been so involved in a video game.
Assassins Creed Valhalla!
I wanted to play that one as well, but saw Odyssey on sale so started with that yesterday. Will save Valhalla for later this year.
I started that too…. But then I started with this. I’ll be going back to that though once I’ve finished this.
Two such huge AC games in one year? I don’t think I can do that. 😀
Haha, maybe I’m being overambitious! I’ll definitely will pick up Valhalla around the Black Friday sales period and at least start playing it this year 😁
Haha, sounds good, good luck!
How are you enjoying the game? I have heard mixed things about it.
I’m enjoying it :-)
It’s HUGE. I’ve been playing for around 50 hours, and only just found a 3rd map. I’ve not bought any of the expansions yet, this main game is plenty for now. I’ll probably wait for the season pass to be on sale before I get that.
Games this size are a mixed blessing. You get your monies worth, that’s for sure, but you wonder how long the story line is and if you’ll ever get to see some sort of ending.
It’s a good game though… well worth it.
Yeah, I think that’s the main issue I have heard, game is too big. And for someone like me with limited time, I am starting to prefer tigher experiences more.
I am still going to give it a try someday. Not sure if I will finish the game or not, but at least want to start it.
Final Fantasy 16! Trying to savor it as it feels like an event that only comes once a decade now.
I’m just loving the epic-ness of the boss fights. Not sure how far through I am, but will be sad when it’s over
The best part is the almost every boss feels like the last boss of the game and somehow the next boss is always more epic than the one before it. Really a great game. I wish it had a bit more fan service for those who grew up playing NES and SNES fantasy games but it is still an amazing game. Best RPG for me since tails of arise.
Jedi Survivor. It’s buggy and glitchy and not a world beater game but I can wield a lightsaber. A woman of simple pleasures.
I am still waiting on performance improvements before I pick this up. I loved FO!
More Diablo IV, with my wife. We don’t really understand the “hearts” system in the new season—we know how to get and use them, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to upgrade them or get anything other than the same few over and over again. But we’ll figure it out. (It’s my first time playing a Diablo game online, and I am highly resistant to looking this sort of thing up.)
Finishing up FF16. I’m on mission 44 of 49 but they throw 10+ side missions at you in between each main mission so it’s probably going to be a while before I wrap everything up.
Yeah, I’ve heard about that being an issue for others. Do you have to beat them to progress? Or you just going for the 100%?
You don’t have to beat them but you can miss equipment etc. The side missions are so hit or miss that you can do one that’s multi-tier and longer than a main mission and just get material or something that could have been bought from a vendor for 100 Gil. Then sometimes the side mission could be 10 minutes long and you’ll get a special weapon or equipment that’s more powerful than what you have and can get for about 10 main missions later.
That…kinda suck tbh
It’s making the game tedious for me but I’m so far into it I might as well power through at this point. Especially when those drawn out side missions branch out into multiple paths that are just walking to a location and killing random enemies. I’m passing on the next Final Fantasy because of this one.
I felt the same way toward the end of Horizon Forbidden west to be honest. I just stopped caring about the side missions and went back to the main ones and it was all good.
Same. Also Gow Ragnarok. I came up with a term called “And then” gaming for it. “Go way out of the way to get a magical cup for me”, AND THEN go slay this boss, AND THEN, ad nauseum until you’re 3 hours deep into a multi branching side quest that you don’t even care about anything anymore. I couldn’t play the first GOW without my wife watching or it would be a fight but in Ragnarok the endless AND THEN side quests had her scrolling on her phone instead. We didn’t start enjoying the game until I just stopped playing the side stuff. I don’t know why 1st party Sony stuff is doing AND THEN missions to pad the game out but they need to stop.
Heavy “Dude, Where’s my Car?” vibes from this comment lol. (I suspect you get the reference). My wife doesnt really like story driven games anyway. Tetris, Pacman, 2D mario are her jam. recently she likes Overcooked and a bit of sackboy. Her first dabble in a real story driven game has been Hogwarts, but since I’m not playing it without her, it’s been a slow go.
I’ll try to finish Death Stranding.
A whole weekend might get me through two, maybe even three cutscenes.
Lmaoooo. Kojima just needs to make movies at this point. 35 hour movies.
God no. He’s got some neat ideas, but his dialogue makes me want to sand my own ears off.
