I’ve finished installing my new BeiHouse rear bar. I love how light it is and how much better designed it is compared to the OEM Australian TowBar. It is styled to look like the OEM Rear bar, but with an even greater exit angle and an integrated tow hitch. Some rated recovery points are also on the way.

The OEM Hitch has a drop of 90mm or a lift of 50mm.

The OEM Receiver aperture is at 315mm with Standard Suspension (and a the Towbar has a clearance of 290mm). The ball mounts at 415mm.

The BeiHouse Receiver aperture is at 440mm; it is also the lowest part of the bar at 435mm. When installing an OEM Hitch as a drop hitch, the lowest point is 380mm. (the nut on the ball is about 25mm, which leaves a practical clearance of 355mm. The ball mounts at 400mm.

There is no documentation about the use of the hitch as a drop hitch so I’m not going to tow anything until I have a new ball mount hitch.
