    Those photos are horrendous, I can barely tell what is going on in them. But even if that is the case, a human should be able to look at the first one and see that the licence plate in the windscreen making no sense. The fact that this has to go to court is so stupid.

    I don’t like the term “AI”, it’s avoids the baggage of what it really means (“computer program”). A computer program was used to identify these images. A computer program is not a witness nor is it expert analysis.

    Pretty appalling if the false positive rates are as high as the article makes them out to be. It certainly seems as though no human is actually reviewing the evidence as claimed, or if they are, it’s only to catch out complete furbies like a photo that doesn’t even contain a car.

    I’m supportive of the technology in principle, but it has to actually work. In its current state, I can’t see any real answer but to immediately cease its usage until something that actually works can be implemented.
