    Pepperidge Farm remembers the last couple of years of the Clinton administration when we had an actual budget surplus and all the talk was of what to do with this surplus. But then the ā€œfiscal conservativesā€ said ā€œReagan proved that deficits donā€™t matterā€.

      And they blamed Obama for being spendy (because even $1 to a poor person is wasteful) while GWB racked up the biggest budget in history many times.

      Deficits donā€™t matter, but a surplus is still dope AF. It shouldnā€™t come from cutting services like we did in the 90s tho.

      I do agree itā€™s insane that the GOP went from ā€œdeficits donā€™t matterā€ when they control the Presidency to ā€œshut down the gov over the debt ceilingā€ when they donā€™t tho.
