O’Neill: “Teal’c, what is that?” Teal’c: “It is a Gua’uld long range visual communication device, somewhat like your television, only much more advanced.” O’Neill: “Huh. Think it gets Showtime?”

(SG-1 was originally on Showtime before moving to what was then the Sci Fi Channel.)

I must have forgotten about this one. 😀 I can’t actually recall others beyond the whole Wormhole X-Treme thing.

I always liked the one is season 10 where Valas father came to the base, and by this time they knew they weren’t getting season 11.

During one scene, they are talking about how the sgc is facing possible shutdown, and Jayce asks something along the line of “why would they suddenly decide to stop supporting you?” and Bill yells “Eureka!” from the other side of the room.

For those who don’t know, the SciFi channel basically abandoned Stargate in favor of Eureka, trying to chase that “people want future tech stuff” vibe I guess.

In the first or second episode Sam makes a MacGyver reference.

When I tried to find the quote, some people are saying it was editing out for tv and only on the DVDs. Weird.

“It took us fifteen years and three supercomputers to MacGuyver a system for the gate on Earth…”

Soon as I heard that I started singing the opening bars to the MacGuyver theme. It was one of my favorite shows alongside the legendary Airwolf.

        the legendary Airwolf

Maybe it would interest you to know that the flying shots in the episode The Other Side was aerial stock footage from Airwolf!

edit: Sorry, incorrect. It was actually the film Firefox

I’m familiar with Firefox, which is also a cool movie! Never gets mentioned that it’s an Eastwood flick.

It’s from the pilot, and it’s removed from the extended cut version, along with the reproductive organs on the inside line. It’s a terrible decision, especially as the genitals line is referenced not once but twice later on.

One of my favorite moments is when the timeline gets messed up and the alternate Sam is trying to hype herself up to go in and ask for a raise or promotion. She’s practicing the lines from the very first episode where she snaps back at O’Neil about her reproductive organs being on the inside instead of the outside. Alternate Sam then stops herself and says something along the lines of, “who talks like that?”

The one where O’Neill steals alien stuff to go undercover with a rogue NID group to catch them in the act. O’Neill meets a Mr. Newman via a goauld television communication device. As he is not happy to see him, O’Neill greets him with a “hello Newman” that sounds very much like the way jerry Seinfeld adresses his neighbor.
