That’s how it’s supposed to be, and why this is such a challenge for the political Right. For them, the cops are allies, and it was incomprehensible that they would put up any opposition at all.
By and large this has always been the case, the the police are guardians of order and the primacy of capital, and that’s the side the Right is almost always on, so it’s understandable how precedent would have led them to believe that it’d always be the case.
And they were shocked and hurt to find out that it wasn’t.
For the record, they feel the same way about the military.
Yes, and I often point to their hysterical outrage at the shooting of Ashli Babbitt as a prime example of this. Someone breaking and entering the Capitol, with a mob of people that had murderous intent, ends up getting shot and they are apoplectic about this, and still are.
The idea that right wing white people might not be allowed to get away with just about anything absolutely infuriates them to no end. Meanwhile, if a black guy happens to get murdered by a cop for selling loose cigarettes or whatever…well, he had it coming. Or had drugs in his system, or whatever the fuck, who cares, why are we even talking about this?
Yes, actually, shooting someone attacking the seat of government is fully justified. What a strange take, while you wear the mantle of the second amendment and fantasize about shooting intruders.
I get that the military is a heavily conservative organization, but I feel like they’d be surprised that the military wouldn’t just let them walk into bases and take orders from them
Their news didn’t report on the Joint Chiefs letter either, which said in no uncertain terms that Trump lost the election and would be leaving the White House.
It turns out that the military isn’t actually as right-wing as everyone thought because, unlike the police, when push comes to shove, they will defend the country. You can’t count on the police to do the same. You hear lots of moaning and complaining about politics but military members WILL follow their leadership and their leadership will support the country.
Down in the lower enlisted ranks, the politics are as diverse as civilian society. Sometimes even more diverse, since you have people from all over the nation forced to work together, sometimes for the first time in their lives. And in a possible conflict, they are going to have to depend on each other for survival. Politics, race and everything else divisive tends to get put aside.

Lol give me some of that crack you’re smoking, bud.
See now this is the kind of crazy I love seeing.
Just straight up, pure-grain insanity. This right here is why I love the internet

the quip about the second amendment indicates you’re lying.
lol ok expert on my mens rea
So you’re admitting to being part of the insurrection? Maybe the FBI should know…

do you need help understanding something specific?
I don’t think we’re defending it, so much as we’re indulging of schadenfreude.
After all, this is from the same crew that likes to tell us to “just comply” and e everything will be fine.
well it’s fucking gross. as they say, “scratch a liberal…”
…if they’re itchy?
“… and a fascist bleeds”
as phil ochs says, liberals are the shadiest of political persuasions.
if you haven’t heard it, i strongly recommend “love me, i’m a liberal” or the updated version from the bush era by evan greer.

you have no idea what I do
I deleted my message because the last thing I need is a flame war with a troll.
@Dagwood222 calling me names is just a personal attack. i haven’t made any such attacks, so the anticipation of a flamewar is unfounded.
Then there’s no need for you to respond
