Just a general thread about running. How’s your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury Etc…
Took a week off after my longest run ever on Saturday the 18th. I did 16 miles; ran 4 miles at a jog, 4 miles as a harder pace (10:30/mile for me), and repeated it twice. It was a grest run by my feet were killing me after. Got major blisters since I was wearing (the wrong) new shoes.
Started back up yesterday morning. Did 6 miles and then 6x 100m sprints. Tomorrow I’ll do 7 miles and then Saturday I’ll do another long run. Not sure what I’ll do since my running coach was injured and hasn’t prescribed me workouts this week.
My race is the Chevron Houston Marathon in January, but I’m only running the half. My first race ever.
Best of luck with that! That race will hopefully be my first full in 2025! (I gotta remember to sign up… and then train lol)
Thank you! Good luck!
I plan to start again, to push regularly. I maybe opt for a every second day rotation, so that the days in the week change.
Is there an example of a year long training plan, for someone who wants to achieve 10km under an hour with “easy” feeling tempo?
I always tended to gravitate towards easy runs, but ended being up slower and slower.
After a trail run over the weekend with just the sounds of a forest in the rain for company, I’m back in the city back on the streets with my 150bpm playlist.
Hard this morning, but I maintain that this song is the best running song of all time - makes me feel like I’m in a montage.

- getting some consistency going finally
I haven’t run in 4 weeks because I’ve been focusing on getting into weightlifting. But my Garmin load is looking good, I might have the capacity for some sprints on the weekend :D
