We all have hundreds of games that are $0, it’s called “all the games in your steam account you already own that you haven’t played yet”.

Yeah, but we already know what those are. These games that we didn’t buy yet are new to us and, therefore, shiny.

Am I weird for not having a backlog? I have games I haven’t played much of, usually because it didn’t click with me, but can’t thing any that I have never played.

I have almost 1000 games. There are certainly genres I own but don’t want to even install. The games that I haven’t played are those I don’t want to play but somehow ended up owning. Probably through bundle deals.

The bundles might be the thing. I rarely buy them, so don’t end up with games I know I won’t like. No shame, btw, I was just curious.

Yeah I stopped buying bundles. They aren’t as good anymore. Humble bundle used to be far better.

Wandersong is $7 USD right now and it’s a real gem if you like more casual games. It’s a 2D adventure game where you interact with the world by singing. It’s cozy and heartwarming, and I’d recommend it to anybody who might be into that kind of experience.

Also Prey is the opposite of heartwarming but it’s one of my all time favorite games (easily top 5) and it’s somehow $3 right now.

Same goes for the whole Dishonored series.

So erm… I read your paragraph on Wondersong and thought, “that sounds amazing, I must get”. Go to the game page “this game is already in your library”… Fine fine, I’ll get on with my backlog.

I love seeing recommendations for Wandersong. It’s a completely different type of adventure game with a unique, and lovely, plot.

Recommend you do, it’s a pretty great game. And if mods are your jam, there’s a ton of them that add a lot of content to the game.

DLC is also 100% worth it. Adds lots of depth, extra items, charectors and levels, and in level item “mutators” that completely change how important items work if you want.

Super good. Makes a fun and deep game more fun and deeper.

Meh. I’m seeing a lot of prices that aren’t even that close to historical lows. e.g. Mass Effect Legendary was $10 somewhere recently but now it’s $12 on Steam (though I’m not giving EA any money for it until they fix the stupid launcher for good on Steam Deck).

Prototype is like $4 though, might snag that if I don’t already own a copy elsewhere.

      palpatine voice do it.

Prototype is among the most fun open world games to just screw around in. Right up there with Marvel’s Spider-man and Just Cause 3

I snagged a bunch of Williams pinball tables already. Very excited to be able to play No Good Gophers in the comfort of my own home.

May also finally pull the trigger on Cyberpunk now.

FWIW I can’t speak to the pre-2.0 update but I’m having a lot of fun with Cyberpunk 2077. Solid AAA game, and it seems like they hammered out a lot of the performance issues from earlier in its life.

I was tempted to buy some tables for pinball FX but I already have all available tables for fx3 and it feels like I’m keep buying them and they release a new version of the game/engine so I have to rebuy them again for the better experience…

I get that. I didn’t rebuy anything I already have. I have tables scattered across all 3 versions of PinballFx out there and it’s super irritating.

Disco Elysium is a good one but I know I don’t have the time right now.

Maybe I get me another Metroidvania.
I have Blasphemous (which I think was already on sale), Bloodstained RotN or Sundered EE on my wishlist, but again I would probably just make the pile of shame grow.

Haiku, the Robot is a very fun metroidvania that you can blast through in under 10 hours if you want something in that genre, but also something short and sweet that wont consume two weeks of your life.

I’ve played a few hours of Ender Lilies. It’s a metroidvania where you play a young priestess who is protected by spirits that you equip to attack for you. It’s pretty, has solid music, and the combat so far has been pretty fun and well-balanced for me. Grow the shame pile…

Not exactly hidden gems, but I finally bought Stray. Also decided to pick up Xenonauts. I can’t decide whether I should grab Phoenix Point though. I keep eyeing up Terra Invicta too, but I’m almost positive it’s going to be a bit too much micromanagement for me to enjoy it.

    Got:

Halo: master collection for €10 Broforce €3 Prey €3

Not a hidden gem but whenever it’s on sale I personally recommend: Enter the Gungeon!

A rogue-lite/like? Game that has puns for everything gun and bullet related.

See if you can survive the Gungeon and kill your past!

“Kill your past, you already damned your future!”

Enter the Gungeon is amazing. I just played through Hades, and while it’s a great game, Enter the Gungeon is still my favorite roguelite.

Unfortunately not at all. I was excited for Persona 5 Royal and was prepared to purchase it again (got it on PS5). Wanted to play it with a Trainer for fun.

However the discount is meh for an rebuy, it’s like €35(?). Was more hoping for €15-20.

I’m waiting for them to remove Denuvo DRM before I buy. I’d love to play it on PC with higher resolution (and hopefully framerates) but that DRM is a dealbreaker for me, unfortunately.

If they remove Denuvo, I won’t buy it very honestly. The community I’m in should say enough hah.

But yeah, you’re right. Best thing even for legit players is Denuvo being removed.

P5R is mildly tempting even though I also own it for PS4. I think I will pass on it until it goes under $20. I also want to hang onto my gaming cash in case Persona 3 Reloaded ends up being legitimately good.

If you haven’t already watched a ton of gameplay, be warned it is VERY different from DD1. Both good games, but I was going expecting a hamlet and that is not what they were going for in the sequel.

So far I kinda like it. I got major decision paralysis late game in DD1 because I was afraid of screwing up my whole campaign whenever I took a break. I like that the consequences of failure seem more localized in DD2. I can see why that would annoy people who really like the original.
