I mean I was one of the people that got harrassed by homophobic DMs when the site first started. I’ve only ever used DMs to check if someone is fine, continue a long comment thread privately instead of having a 50 comment deep public chat, and to contact the original developer about site bugs. (Though I don’t think they are around anymore). I don’t even understand why people would DM randoms on hexbear lol. Especially to debate? Weirdo behaviour.
I remember getting some hate DM from some weirdo patsoc because I was dunking on vets except the patsoc also hate-DMed like 40 people from that thread lmao
I checked their temper tandrum thread before they got banned, and they also hate-DMed you as well.
I tried to warn you all about the creepy-crawlies of DMs, but no one listened.

Was it that “OrganizeOrDie” patsoc or one of his many, many alts?
If he said that depressed people deserved death (because they wouldn’t be useful enough in his totally-not-nazbol revolution), that’s the one.
I’ve DM’d someone once to ask something I didn’t want to put into hextube chat.
Sure you said that then, Cassandra, but why should we believe you now?
I’ve only had two for the past three years I’ve been on this site. I must not be posting hard enough.
Every time I log into this site my DMs is the equivalent to lifting up a large rock on a summer’s day.
Thank you for your service in the war against the bugs.
Eat up!
