Yeah because as this person themselves has said a few sentences later, megacorps from those “capitalist countries” exploit Vietnam for cheap labor and resources. Not because of the Vietnamese government directly exploiting it’s citizens per se. Vietnamese workers in a Samsung factory for instance are still employees of Samsung and their treatment needs to be accounted for when discussing the “higher level of human rights” possessed by “capitalist countries”, not just the local workers onshore.
It’s not Vietnams problem that the western left can’t even organize itself into a coherent enough political force to stop our governments from pillaging third world countries on threats of military and economic violence.
To suggest that countries in the west have “mechanisms” to “protect workers rights” is a bit silly too. They need to clarify what this means beyond having enough resources to avoid mass sweatshop labor on home turf.
