Australians have resoundingly rejected a proposal to recognise Aboriginal people in its constitution and establish a body to advise parliament on Indigenous issues.

Saturday’s voice to parliament referendum failed, with the defeat clear shortly after polls closed.

One of the stupid things they did with this referendum was they bundled the constitutional recognition along with the stupid “voice to parliament”. If they did 2 questions, or just the recognition one, I have no doubt the constitutional recognition would have passed with easily 60%+.

      Constitutional recognition? Good.

      “The Voice”? Bad.
