    Depending on your ideology, nobody can stop them. And more to the point, is that not what Scotland has been threatening to do for some time now?

      What they cannot do, however, is just declare themselves part of Norway. As a Norwegian, though, I hope we’d take them.

        Well, they can, it just comes with the embarrassing risk of Norway rejecting that claim. You’d hope they’d not take that route.

      You definately have a point. I’m honestly not very well versed in the specifics of this situation, which is why I was curious. What repercussions do you think such a move would have from a diplomatic point of view between the UK and Norway? Building from that too, obviously Norway would have to agree to take them in first, which from the article I’m not sure if they have.

      Well I think the Dutch would love to welcome Scotland as a constituent country (or something) of the Kingdom of The Netherlands!
