Hesiod out here warning us about tramp stamps a few millenia early
And gold-diggers. Pithiness, thy name is Hesiod.
Grain diggers*
Oh, tramp stamps make sense. I was thinking maybe butt plugs with furry tails lol
It’s more like bustles but tramp stamps is funnier
Even in those times you had to deal with lemon stealing whores smh.
granary stealing whores
I would click that link
Graindigging hussies!
Why are they always after my granary?
Is it the extra half food after population increase?
Get with the times old man, it’s +1 food on every farm and plantation now.
I do not envy civ players. At least the CoD and FIFA types know what they’re about and embrace the the same reheated gameplay yearly.
But strategy game players who enjoy working the brain muscles and encpuntering novel scenarios? Getting drip fed slight rehashes of tech trees/stat numbers with the exact same gameplay and charging 70$ for it + future DLC? Thats gotta slowly drive the civ community crazy after a decade or two.
Every Civ has had pretty significant gameplay changes compared to the previous ones.
Sure, there are a lot of similarities because it’s the same 4x genre, but saying every Civ is the same is like saying every FPS is the same and so Doom and Marvel Rivals have the exact same gameplay.
I do agree that they really twist the knife on pricing and DLC, but that also comes with years of continuous support, patches and major updates.
It’s that or the barracks, man. Ladies always be after that early game conquest.
Asking for a friend, but what were people decorating their buttocks with in Hesiod’s time.
Edit:
I found the following on https://neoskosmos.com/en/2019/11/24/dialogue/opinion/buttocks-of-greece-an-ancient-arse-country/
He then wrote him the following poem: “On Paeonian daughters who adorn their buttocks: Hesiod said to his brother Perses: – Don’t let an arse-decorated (πυγόστολος) woman deceive your mind. There are two ways in which she may be called pygostolos. Either because she adorns her arms and forearms (πυγών), and so is called pygostolos for putting on bracelets, or because she adorns her buttocks (πυγή), by her hind-quarters, with broad girdles done up with tassels and fringes.” Incontrovertible proof, if ever such was required, that arses pre-existed Kim Kardashian.
Don’t let an arse-decorated (πυγόστολος) woman
I love how there is an ancient word specific for “arse-decorated”.
Usually an exotic looking glyph they thought meant “love” or “hope” but it actually said “soup”.
Shoot, I have that book somewhere and now have to find it. Seriously, I have a book by him
Please post any more tips you find for protecting our granaries.
I did find my book. It will take some time reading and finding that section.
Avoid women with decorated buttocks for the time being ;)
Haha, will do!
I’ll try :D
Too late, my granary is lost, curse those decorated buttox
So, no to girls with tramp stamps?
