OK, got some weird reactions out of kbin on this one. It uploaded a picture of my cat instead of these minis.

SO, anyway, to celebrate my joining the mod team, I wanted to share some potato-quality images of the first and latest battlemechs I’ve painting since starting painting over two months ago.

As an introduction, I’m a life-long Battletech fan who spent a great number of his teenage years reading the fiction and enjoying the video games. After a stint with the HBS Battletech game a few years ago where I basically played it as much as possible, I realized the tabletop game might be of great interest to me and began picking up merchandise.

As of last winter, I started playing locally with a friend and am starting to join some groups here in Florida to play as often as I can.

I look forward to working with everyone and building a greater place for all of us!

      Nice mechs, love that Atlas.

HBS’s BattleTech is actually quite a faithful translation, if you convert some of the numbers to match the tabletop figures. They added a very important mechanic to speed things up though: Evasion dropping everytime you get shot at. It’s one of the factors that make the tabletop game so draggy, with everyone maxing their evasion bonus to at least +3 whenever possible, making for some ridiculous to-hit figures when playing at default pilot stats.

Thank you! Yeah I was just figuring out primers, and it uses Speedpaints. My goal with later mechs, like the Mad Cat, was to make the colors as smooth as possible. But I’m still really new. I have another Atlas I’m going to play with in a few months to see if I can do any better.

OH, to clarify, one of the left is the first mech I did, one on the right is the second. I know the quality isn’t great, but I’ll work on it…
