To answer your question, yes. Trans and a lot of queer people are significantly more gay than subtle or scared gay, lesbian, and bi people. Just being trans is seen as at least as gay as the most stereotypically gay man with the voice and the wrist and the fast walking.
Any queer person who can approximate their identity as simply bi can seem less gay than if they call themselves pansexual or demisexual or something. If they/them or neopronouns get into the mix you become incomprehensibly gay.
