It’s almost like it’s a perfect distraction for an easily angered Left. Anything to help deflect from the exec orders and pardons and damned if it doesn’t work painfully well.

With the added bonus of making the Left sound hysterical so as to make persuadable centrist/moderates less likely to listen when there are real actual harms.

Dude played us like a fiddle.

Did you notice how more than half of voters voted for trump?

Mainstream America doesn’t agree with us on the fascist accusations. Screaming about things with which the majority of voters disagree with us on isn’t a recipe for success and makes them less likely to believe us in future.

So, by this godawful trash logic, you’re saying 1930s era Germans shouldn’t have spoken up, because the majority of Germans were onboard with fascism?

No… You are absolutely missing the point.

Calling the Republicans nazis is going to convince zero people they are nazis. What it will do is make all those Biden-Trump voters, or reluctant republican voters discount what we say when it matters.

If we scream nazi when Elon trolls us, people are much less likely to care when we scream it again about detention centres.

Unlike you, I understand the danger this administration poses and the importance of addressing it in a meaningful way. Letting Musk troll us into throwing temper tantrums ain’t helping.

A wrong answer is not a meaningless one.

Whether or not people are duped into believing something wrong doesn’t make it more right.

It’s still wrong, it’s still a lie, it’s still incorrect.

The truth of our world will always find its way back to the light, because the people who strive for truth have a will and ambition like no other, regardless of whether they’re wrong at the moment. A few may keep themselves in perpetual darkness, but they know in their heart of hearts that reality. It’s why they so fervently clutch for the phantom of a truth before pulling a Luigi.

More than half of voters did not vote at all this election. Of those who did, both republicans and democrats got less total votes compared to last time.

It’s not that American voters don’t believe that republicans are fascist, I think many are aware of that. They also see the fascist tendencies of Dems, and recognize that for 50 years now, Dems haven’t really done much to improve their material living conditions either. If Dems ever have a chance to do so, there’s always several corpo dems ready to torpedo bills over some nonsense, or the senate parliamentarian won’t let them, or some other bs.

Trump at least said things to his base indicating he recognizes the pain points and promised to address them - even if those more discerning among us realize he will do the opposite, the important political aspect is that he had the right optics by addressing the real issues for the working class. Dems could not be bothered to do this, and instead insisted they wouldn’t change anything, again. And further, made it a point to team up with neocons like Liz Cheney, and kiss billionaire asses like Mark Cuban’s.

So, if you have 2 fash candidates, both courting their rich donors, and one is saying more of the same, while the other is campaigning on fixing your issues and is positioned as a political outsider…why not vote for possible change? Don’t try to blame the voters - the blame for this outcome rests solely with the DNC, and the corruption endemic to politics via legalized bribery.

Lastly, look what happened on day one. A mile long list of executive orders, many of which targeted the issues Trump’s base wanted. Sure, some might not stick, but he actually delivered on those campaign promises on day 1 just like he said he would. When was the last time a democrat ever did something like that for their voters?

About 60% of eligible voters, votes in the 2024 elections (slightly more or less depending on methodology.)

But I think your larger conclusions about voters deciding both parties are fascist is unsupported by reality or evidence.

I’d agree they’ve grown disenchanted but that’s very different. Unless, we’re just in this new stage where anything we don’t like is labelled as fascist.

If the richest human in existence, who will have an official position in the White House, performs multiple Nazi salutes while standing behind the presidential seal at a presidential inauguration, on national television, we HAVE to talk about it.

Not sure why that’s difficult for you to understand.

I guess that’s why the internet advice is “DO feed trolls.”

The whole point is to make us scream nazi so that everyone else goes “oh the fucking left, they spent 4 years screaming fascist and then we had another election. Now those idiots are screaming nazi…”

It’s really not complicated and my God are we taking the bait hard. It hurts to watch, we shouldn’t be this stupid and gullible but here we are.

No, it’s checkers. The same checkers I played when I bullied my sister as a kid.

        1. Get her angry about something.
        2. she flips out.
        3. mom and dad get mad at her.
        4. success!

        Elon:

        1. Do something you could interpret as a nazi salute.
        2. The Left flips out.
        3. Oxegyn/attention goes to that instead of the evil shit in the executive orders. Plus, most Americans do not seem to think trump is actually going to pull nazi shit (gas chambers, attack the world, remove elections.) So we just look like the same whiners who screamed fascism from 2016-2020 until there was another election (not typically a fascist move.)
        4. Success!

It’s not complicated, not brilliant but goddamn are we taking the bait like my 10 year old sister did.

Well, frankly he’s pretty fucking uncoordinated if he was trying to do a sieg heil. Like, getting shot by the SS bad at it.

Which is the point. By making it close but passable, we freak out, moderates roll their eyes and the Left gets discredited.

I really thought we’d matured beyond falling for stupid shit lile that but I guess I had too much faith in people.
