Sometimes I don’t know if it’s propaganda or some inferiority complex because I’ve seen some propaganda from my country (MX) and if I try to go against it I get downvoted constantly (a lot less since I joined an instance that blocked ml, grad and hex) by people adamant into telling me how they lived here for a while, they have family here or how I am ignorant about that country, like… Bitch, everyone in my family has lived here for 3 generations at least, don’t come here to tell me how things work when I have to deal with the consequences of a kakistocracy that keeps shitting on everything.
A lot of the fediverse users just have to be right when it comes to politics… And vaping, don’t you dare have questions or doubts about vaping because they get mad.

You tend to have very extreme views, which sometimes get heavily downvoted. It’s convenient for you to blame that on “American indoctrination.”

And as you say, Lemmy is too small. So maybe it’s just that a lot of people here do not agree with your views.

Even for people, who are not Leninist/Stalinist or similar, it is noticeable.

From my perspective (being not from the US) us-american arrogance is very present on lemmy.

Those aren’t mutually exclusive; “American indoctrination.” is the reason so many lemmitors disagree with such extreme views as “sending weapons that prolong war is bad for the people who will suffer the effects of those weapons, mostly civilians”, “supporting al-nusra is bad”, “we shouldn’t put tariffs on EVs and solar panels”, or “the chinese government having your data is less of a threat to you than the american government having your data”

Both, but there was definitely blatant astroturfing after Biden withdrew and Kamala became the nominee.

I think we just have a surprising amount of political staffers in Lemmy. The bulk does seem to be wealthy people living in suburbs. Look at how the biggest groups are people self hosting thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment.

Surprising amount of political staffers… As if that is a class of people. Those people are normies and not tech savvy. They’re all workaholics too so most of them probably only used LinkedIn for social media.

Your idea that people who self-host somehow equals political staffers is just asinine. There’s literally no overlap.

i really doubt any major organizations are paying for bots, at least not on lemmy. we’re just not big enough methinks
if there are any it’s probably a smaller operation done by a few people max.
