And it still results in “Siri, bedroom lights 10%” being met with “I can look that up on ChatGPT” instead of fucking working like it used to.
Weirdly, 18.2 seems to have made some commands completely broken for me.
I typically use Siri to quickly open apps or look things up and some things that used to work just fine now direct to ChatGPT.

Yup, I’ve figured out by random chance that if I specify “set bedroom lights to 10%” it works, but it needs the word “set” now. But every time I forget, I have to go through the annoyed “Siri, Bedroom lights 100%. Siri, stop. Siri, STOP! Siri, SET the bedroom lights to 100%!” Doesn’t feel good after buying HomePods in an intentional effort to switch away from Alexa.
« This made sense, because one of the privacy features of Apple Intelligence is that most of its features run on-device by default. And in order to do that, your device needs to download the AI models—which eats into your storage space.«
Okay
tech companies love giving us useless bloatware we never ask for at a premium price
So far I haven’t seen any real-world return that’s worth doubling the needed storage.
I guess they had an aggressively small model that was a bit too small.
My AI is still at 2.9 GB, strange.
