Thank you, much love. It’s looking promising. About 2k USD more than our highest expectations though before we took him in @c@

Gonna make a GoFundMe for the first time and share it with my workmates and friends. I feel bad doing it because I feel there’s more important causes, but he’s not even four yet and he’s so important to us… not to mention his twin brother.

I made the fundme for friends and workmates and I appreciate your offer sooooooo dang much but I have privacy autism stuff and I don’t know how to PM things on Lemmy… I left Reddit after Apollo died and PMs were easy there but yeah. You’re a wonderful person for offering and both my partner and I are so thankful for your offer. Much love :3

Thank you so much again—you’re sweet. Our little kitty boi is still in hospital but he’s stable now, it sounds like they’re hopeful he comes home soon. His littermate brother is very confused. :c

Our boi is not even back from the hospital yet and we’re halfway to our goal of $3k… I feel so insanely fortuitous and appreciative. Thank you again for offering to chip in. <3

                  Blocked urinary tract D:

He went from totally normal to hiding from us and refusing to eat all day. We brought him into the vet and she IMMEDIATELY looked horrified and said “I need to make a call”, then rushed us off to an emergency hospital who informed us that if we had waited another day, he had a super high risk of dying… I guess this is a thing that can happen with boi kitties.

So they had to put him under heavy sedation, put a catheter in, and keep him for a day to flush his bladder. There’s still crystals as of the morning but he’s showing great progress!

Alas, what we thought was going to be a 500-700USD vet bill is now a LITTLE BIT MORE… the deposit to leave him there was 2.7k, and it could be up to another thousand, which is the reason we tried a fundraiser.

Poor guy! That happened to a kitty of mine when I was a kid, with the same symptoms. We caught it early and he was fine, but it was a scary couple of days while he stabilized at the vet. I hope your furry child is alright.

If cats just weren’t so secretive and weird, instead throwing up all over the carpet and making a scene like dogs do, treating their issues would be so much easier.

I hope he recovers swiftly! In past emergencies (we have some dumb dogs…) I’ve had luck posting to reddit and Instagram, there are some charitable strangers out there!

Thank you so much! I use my real name so I can’t post it for strangers, but I’m insanely lucky to have some friend support already <3 I’ve been prefacing it with “I don’t expect anything from this but we made this because it was such a shock.” No chance we’ll hit the goal of The Amount™ but if we exceed it we’re donating anything extra to a no-kill shelter.

For context he’s a 4YO cat with a littermate brother who is very distressed right now, not knowing where his brother is. Outlook is good, so we’re thankful.
