Fastest was 4:17. I’m trying to match it
Learned how to do it w/ video yesterday using jperm’s 10 min tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ron6MN45LY
Edit: I’ll post my cube tmr if someone reminds me.
Well done young Padowan.
I was there a year ago and now I’m trying to get under 30 seconds solves. Just so you’re aware this isn’t the end of the road but the start of the journey.
Fuck I’ve been cubing for going on 15 years and I’m just starting to consistently get under 30 seconds. Consistently but not even a majority of the time… I don’t know how you all progress so fast
Oh I’m consistently over 30 seconds trust me lol, I’m just trying to be under 30 seconds (and failing!).
Best I’ve managed was a 25 and that was a fluke
awesome, welcome to the obsession! :) as others have noted, it never ends. “I gotta get sub-1-minute!” … “I gotta get sub-50!” … “I gotta get sub-30!”… etc. I definitely have to remind myself to enjoy it some days.
@pineapplelover
Welcome in the amazing cubing world!Well done, and welcome! You’ve taken your first step into a larger world!
(reminder to post your cube)
Nice! Do you happen to know the brand/model? It doesn’t look like a Rubik’s brand, that’s for sure!
Got it a while ago, brand is some chinese name called Mo Fang Ge
@pineapplelover
Which method do you all use?
CFOP full PLL? 4-look PLL?Honestly, no idea what those letters are you just said to me, I followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ron6MN45LY
What method is that?
Edit: vid description says LBL
Speedsolving Wiki has good info on terminology.
CFOP is a method (more optimized version of LBL(Layer by Layer))
PLL is an algorithm set used to Permute the Last Layer (which can be split into 2 steps or looks). I’m not familiar with CFOP so I don’t know if 4 look PLL is a thing.
I use the Roux method and I highly recommend trying out other methods! It’s harder to learn them once you’re set in your ways :P
@miria
Yes. CFOP PLL can be done in 4 steps when you’re a beginner (call 4-look) with few algos. Then you can learn more algos and do it in 3 steps.
Finally, you can learn all algos and do it in 2 steps also called ‘full PLL’.Again, I might be wrong, but:
Full PLL is 1 look PLL. Using 1 algorithm to solve PLL.
Full OLL is also 1 look and uses only 1 alg.Are you sure you meant 4 look PLL and not 4 look LL (Last Layer)? That would use 2 look PLL and 2 look OLL.
@miria
Exactly! Sorry.
End-of-day fatigue… 🙄Thanks for correcting me :)
Roux, using CMLL (some CMLL2 and CMLLEO)
What about yourself?@miria
Yeah, you’re a part of rouxvolution!
I use CFOP 4-look PLL. My best Ao12 is 42s.
