I somehow managed to memorize the instructions for Kraft Mac & Cheese, despite being as horribly ADHD as everyone else in these comments.
Boil 6 cups of water
Add pasta, boil 7-8 minutes (personally I’ve found that 6½ minutes is the sweet spot; any more and the pasta turns mushy)
Drain pasta, return to pot
Mix in 4 tbsp butter (half a stick) and 1/4 cup milk (I skip the milk and add a handful of shredded cheddar instead.)
And then of course you should spice it up with a protein like bacon, tuna, lobster, or surimi. I also like to add half a bag of frozen peas sometimes. Or onions and tomatoes to compliment the meat, then bake in the oven like a casserole. Season with your choice of black pepper, old bay, and/or garlic powder (or all three). Top with breadcrumbs if that’s your thing (personally not a fan).
I gave up on this and just wing it now. It’s not always perfect, but it’s premade, and I just blame it on the company.
Why not just delay throwing the box away until you’re finished cooking?
Because that’s not how it works or we wouldn’t be on this post having this chat, probably. ;)
