IMO only means “I disagree”, and implies much more a difference of values than of cognitive capacity.
Have you tried looking at it from a different perspective?
“Yeah, I don’t know about that”
“That’s not a reasonable [opinion/position/take/xyz] and is going to [cost us money/make us look bad/blow up in our face/etc].”
“This is counter to my current understanding”
“There is a large juxtaposition between expectation and result.” Once used that when asked to give feedback on a store manager when I was a security guard.
We need alignment on x or y will suffer.
