Tell me why I’m wrong, and if not, repudiate this maudlin, caricatured, two-dimensional, simplistic, cliched, sappy, melodramatic, piece of cinematic legend.

No one wants to fight you on something so silly.

It’s a good film by any measure - cinema is either art or entertainment. Sometimes it’s both, but it doesn’t have to be. If it doesn’t match whatever standards you’ve devised for yourself then…cool.

What is art to one person is not to another. What entertains one person bores another. It’s subjective.

If you want to fight people on this point, you’re either very young or insufferable to be around.

      The second one

Don’t you know not to engage? 😎 Round two, fight!

Anyway, I would be content to ignore it, but it has long been user reviewed as the best film of all time, and I think that opens it up for discussion and critical thought, and removes the “argument” or debate from the realm of silly.

Better than The Godfather? Better than Rocky? Better than Casablanca? Better than hundreds of entertaining and well-made movies? Star Wars, or Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom?

And considering prison movies. Cool Hand Luke? Felon? Papillon? Escape from Alcatraz? Just some off the top of my head.

I do get annoyed seeing this outclassed flick taking a place with really good movies. I’ve tried to give it a chance, I’ve watched it twice and I still don’t get what people are seeing. It must be mostly men; I can’t imagine a LARGE NUMBER of women find this movie compelling.

I love movies and entertainment. But this one feels like a TV movie from the 80s.

I’ve never seen it called the best film of all time?

And I’m a woman… And most women I know really like this film.

        I’ve decided you’re 14.

So many ways to be wrong.

BTW, what do you think Lemmy’s demographic is? Mostly women you’d say? Even, say, near 50%-50% male/female (self identified)? I mean, YOU’RE here. So obviously it isn’t a desert. Not that I said Shawshank was. But I guess you think that if you are included it can’t be a mostly male experience.

Decide what you like, here is an actual source of fact if you care, which I’m sure you don’t.

Your link disproves your own point.
