    You’re also losing the prized employees with extremely transferable skillsets you’re lucky to have

      Not worth it. “Prized” employees can demand concessions. Better to eliminate the need for those “prized” skills entirely, or transfer the need to contractor responsibility rather than keeping them on payroll.
