I’m not sure if there’s a setting to toggle, or an easier way to fix this. What happens is:

  1. While using a second monitor with a laptop, I was using OnlyOffice on the extended display
  2. I closed OnlyOffice
  3. Later while using the laptop only, I try opening OnlyOffice. The icon appears and there’s a little animation of it opening offscreen to the side, but nothing happens

What I tried:

  • I tried using alt-tab to select that window, and then use keyboard shortcuts to bring it back to the main screen.
  • I also tried to preview what was displayed, but it was a white screen only.
  • Force killing the program didn’t help

If someone else runs into the issue:

  • wait until I was back home with the second monitor, opening OnlyOffice, and dragging the display back to the laptop screen.

I now remember to leave it on the laptop screen when closing.

version 7.5.1.23 (x64 exe), Windows 11 :(

I’ve found as long as you select the window, use the keyboard shortcut to select move as you noted, use the arrow keys to move it a few steps, after that move the mouse without clicking and the window often moves with it at that point.

But yeah it’s the side effect of an inbuilt setting to remember last location on screen when the app was last used. Just not taking into account that the specific screen location is no longer available.

Yes you’re right, that works once the window is at least partially visible on your active screen. There have been some occasions though where I tried to grab the screen and either misclicked, or whatever else happened that transported it back off-screen, so now I make it a point to navigate it fully onto my visible screen before touching it.
