There are farmer protests across Europe - notably strongest in the Netherlands. They’re usually for political causes like protesting against low food prices and against environmental laws like manure regulations, stuff that limits the amount of livestock per farm, etc.
They’re also hostile to causes like veganism and see themselves threatened into bankruptcy… which is why they support right and far-right parties, since they don’t care about the environment and place “the economy” as its priority.
Like old fascism, these people are the less well-off among the bourgeois (owning the firm) and ally themselves with the force they perceive to make them competitive again.
