Labor MPs have elected Steven Miles unopposed and unanimously to the top job. Treasurer Cameron Dick has been endorsed as deputy premier.

Labor MPs have unanimously elected Steven Miles as Queensland’s 40th premier, less than a week after Annastacia Palaszczuk announced she was retiring after almost nine years in the top job.

Mr Miles was elected unopposed by the Labor caucus in Brisbane this morning, with Treasurer Cameron Dick becoming the new deputy premier.
