Hey folks! Just microwaved my heat pad a little too long and the cherry pits ended up burning slightly. It was only a small portion of the bag but the smell is stuck to me and taking over the house! Any idea how to tame it?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies everyone! I’ve had the windows open already but the vinegar was just placed so we’ll see. Bowl eating and bag swallowing will be my next attempt if all else fails.

    New microwave.

It’s now coated in burnt oils/vapour and you’ll never get them out.

Don’t fight it, not worth the time and effort, they’re pretty cheap, replace it.

I would say that not putting a perfectly fine microwave into the garbage and spending the time needed to clean the microwave and it’s removable components would be a better solution.

Sure, they’re ‘cheap’ depending on who you are and what you buy, but they’re surely not ‘cheap’ as to be entirely disposable and they’re not exactly safe for landfills.

The fan, outer casing and every single component that the air passes over are not easily cleaned.

        Send it to the recyclers.
